2022 gift guides: for littles

Hi friends! Back with a gift guide full of all the things for the little kids in your life. Most of these toys are good for ages 2-5 years, but honestly my 7 year old plays with most of these just as much!

A quick write up of our favorites is below, followed by even MORE ideas! Thanks, as always, for turning to The Rose Record for your gifting needs. Appreciate you!

HAT & MITTENS SET: A must-have gift for us each year (their heads and hands grow so quickly!). I love this cute set because the hat has a strap and because it comes with mittens (gloves are hard!). Here’s the cute blue version too.

SOUNDING JOY BOOK: I am so looking forward to reading this new book by musician Ellie Holcomb. She’s releasing music to accompany it. Can’t wait to release the sounding joy!

QUILTED PURSE: Can you even with this Chanel look-alike? Almost as good as one from Canal Street.

PEG PEOPLE NATIVITY: I love gifting a nativity set to kids - and one they an actually play with! How darling is this little peg people one? A good price too - I saw some online for $200+!

THEATER & STORE PRETEND SET: My kids are obsessed with putting on “shows” with their “guys” and this toy has been huge hit. One side is a stage and one side is a store setting. This is large, but one I think they’ll use a ton!

PERSONALIZED PLACEMATS: I get asked about our personalized place mats about once a week. They are from the sweetest store and are fully customizable - you get to pick out everything from eye color to hairstyle. So fun! I like to give as gifts with a matching cup and bowl set.

BARBIE DREAM CAMPER: I am trying to hold out one more year on buying a Barbie Dream House (they are massive!), and I think this rather large barbie camper might buy me some time. It several fun components - a bunk, a car, a boat, and more. If you want the even larger, deluxe version, check out this one.

MINI GOLF SET: Since we put in our putting green in the back yard, golf is even bigger around our house. I love this pastel colored set that comes with a mat and ramps so they can practice indoors this winter.

PLAY KITCHEN: Hands down, one of the best purchases we ever did for our toddlers was a play kitchen. I used to keep ours in a corner of our kitchen. They’d “cook” while I cooked. And can we talk about this cute mint color and gold accessories! They have really come along way the past 7 years. Currently 25% off!

DUFFLE BAG: I love this brand of bags because they are water repellant and easy to clean. Add an embroiled or appliqué monogram and they are just about the cutest ever! Great for weekends at Grandma’s or eventually sleepovers with friends. Lots of colors!

STROLLER WAGON: Oh, how I wish these were around when my kids were smaller. You can push or pull it! It has seat belts and a sun shade! Perfect for trips to the park or ball fields. Great when they’re a little to big for the stroller, but still need to be contained.

HEDGEHOG PILLOW PET: Chalk this one up to the random commercial my daughter saw on TV. But they are kind of cute. A stuff animal that unsnaps into a pillow. Lots of different animals.

TONIES BOX: Emilia’s favorite Christmas gift from last year was her Tonies Box. I love that it encourages independent play. Kids can set a character on top and the box will begin telling stories and playing songs. I also appreciate a “follow-up-gift” where you can gift more items to add on to an existing toy. She and Deacon are both getting more Tonies Characters for their boxes this year - the Llama Llama one and The Lion King one. This link is for the set which comes with three additional characters - the perfect starter pack!

WOODEN BLOCKS: One of the best toys we own is a set of wooden blocks. Open-ended play galore thanks to them. I love this cute set with the towers and castle accessories.

DOMINO TRAIN: The kids’ great aunt got them this last year for Christmas and wow was it a hit! As the train moves it places dominos in a line. Ready for you to knock them over!

ANYWHERE CHAIR: Both of my kids still use their PBK Anywhere Chairs and this year it’s time to upgrade Emilia to the larger size. They have some new colors now too - this sage green is obviously my fav!
