Mother's Day Gift Guide

Have y’all seen the meme that’s like “you know we’ll still be in quarantine times for Mother’s Day and get out just in time for Father’s Day.”? Sad and probably true. In which case, Mother’s Day better be extra-special, extra-thoughtful, and full of GOOD gifts. As my BFF Dorinda would say, “Make it Nice.” Go ahead and just forward this link on to your partners or children and say I’d like all of THIS. About 60% of this gift guide is full of things on my list. I, apparently, have quite the list this year - must be all this sitting at home that has me wanting new stuff? The rest of the things on this guide are things I’ve received as gifts or given as gifts that I know people love, use, and covet. Snag something for your mom, grandma, aunt, babysitter, friend or heck, yourself! The moms of the world have been doing it ALL even more these days and they deserve all the love and all the things this year.

(1) Mini Mask Set - This Peter Thomas Roth gift set has a mask for every skin need - from hydration to exfoliation to brightening. A great gift for someone who loves trying new skincare or is often found with a mask on her face at any spare moment (ahem, me!). One of my favorite beauty bloggers, Kathleen Jennings, swears by this brand so this set seems like a wonderful introduction into PTR. (P.S. this is in my cart for the VIP Sephora Sale that begins next week - blog post will go live of my beauty pics then!)

(2) Monogram Leather Tassel Case - I have a very old cosmetics bag I use in my tote bag that has all of my “special” items that I don’t want covered by the rogue applesauce pouch. I think it’s time for an upgrade. These days, I’ve been using it to wrangle my “work from home” items - pens, glasses, headphones, phone charger, lip balm. That way when I get a moment to escape, every thing I need is already together and I can flee quickly. Loving the shadow font and the numerous fun colors available for these cases. Also available in a smaller size. 20% OFF WITH CODE FRIENDS

(3) Apple Airpods - If the lady in your life doesn’t yet have wireless headphones, these are a must-get. I fold laundry, lay in bed with my son til he falls asleep, go on walks, and block out Daniel Tiger thanks to my wireless headphones. Audio books or podcasts have kept me company and helped me escape for years. And now, especially in these times company and escape are ESSENTIAL. I like the fact that I can leave my phone in the other room or (lets be honest on the charger because its always in low battery!) and still listen - huge lifesaver. (PS these are available at so many retailers, but linking to Target so you can do curb-side pick up.)

(4) (5) (6) Yeti Cups & Accessories - I truly don’t know what I’d do without my Yeti Water Cup (30oz Rambler) or my Yeti Coffee Cup. They keep my ice water freezing and my coffee hot for hours. My husband actually “borrowed” my yeti mug and took it to work where it has been left alone in isolation for the past six weeks. I miss it so much. I also swear by my handle and straw lid on my water cup to make it easy to carry and easy to sip. Love all the fun colors the cups come in too!

(7) Weezie Short Robe - Top of my list this year is this short-style robe from Weezie. If you’re unfamiliar with Weezie, they make the softest most luxurious towels. I love this short-sleeve and short-length of this robe for spring and summer. Bonus points for not having a collar so your hair doesn’t get that weird dent in it while it is air drying. They come in plain white and a stripe, but I personally love this block print. Several monogram styles and colors to choose from too!

(8) Spa Headbands - Ok this is super random, but one of those little things I love! A terry-cloth Velcro headband just like they have at spas. I use these to keep my hair back while masking and putting on makeup. I love that it Velcros so you wont mess up your makeup or face mask sliding it on or off. One of these would be cute rolled up and tucked in with the PTR Mask Gift Set (see number one), or even tucked inside one of the Yeti cups (number 5 and 6).

(9) Slipper Sandals - I’ve had my eye on these for awhile now, ever since I discovered the kids version of them earlier this spring. They look so soft and come in tons of cute colors. A must have for our stay-at-home lifestyle right now.

(10) The Perfect Sunglasses - Truly, the most perfect sunglasses. I lost my exact ones like this last year (hmmm or are they in my pool bag?) and miss them so much. I love this brand because the glasses are well made, lenses are polarized, but are at very decent price point. The tortoise frame on these is flattering for any skin and hair color and the shape is modern yet classic. If you don’t know what to get her, get her these.

(11) Wine Caddy/Snack Board - Ok how genius is this?! Everything you need for some rosé all day in one easy to carry system! Holds a wine bottle, two glasses, and space for snacks below. Also comes in a larger version that holds two wine bottles and four glasses. As someone who despises taking multiple trips when doing anything, this is such a functional and cute idea.

(12) Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner - Another random item, but one I swear by. My mom got them for all of us kids for Christmas a few years ago and they are such a hit. If you’re getting the mom in your life jewelry this year (see below for items 13 and 14 for ideas), this is a cute thing to throw in with it. Nothing gets my rings as shiny and sparkly as this. Great for cleaning eyeglasses too!

(13) Initial Necklace - I love a dainty gold necklace and have been coveting one with the kids’ initials on it for a while (I actually want this 3-letter version so I can include Al, Deacon, & Emilia). Especially great for a new-mom, she can wear her child’s initial around her neck. (As I write this, my child is physically hanging on my neck making me laugh at the desire to symbolize this feeling. Ha!). Also comes in 2-letter and 3-letter versions.

(14) Diamond & Gold Huggie Earrings - I’ve gotten a ton of questions about the diamond huggies I wear every day and sadly they are sold out. But I found an almost total dupe at an AMAZING price point. I love a huggie style because the post doesn’t stab behind your ear and they are nice and secure. This mini style is wonderful for moms with little ones at home because they aren’t long enough for baby to grab. The best everyday, feel-special, but don’t leave your house earring. And if you want the real deal, how amazing are these?!

(15) Barefoot Dreams Throw - If you’ve never felt Barefoot Dreams fabric, I imagine it is the same thing as feeling the inside of a cloud. I have their robe and really want this sweatshirt from the soft clothes round-up and love how soft the fabric is while still having some heft. Its almost like a very lightweight weighted blanket. I got my mom and my in-laws the blankets for Christmas and immediately regretted not gifting myself one. And yes, I realize this is an outrageous price for a blanket, but our throw blankets are getting some real use right now and an luxurious upgrade is needed. I love the neutral animal print, but also comes in solid colors too.

(16) Hand Print Garden Stone Kit - Crafty I am not. Finding decent craft kits on Amazon? That I can do. We gave a similar version of these as gifts last year to the grandmas and they were huge hits. Can be displayed in a garden, propped up on a counter, or really anywhere. A great way to get the kids involved in the gift-giving process too! And what mom or grandma doesn’t want a permanent reminder of the tiny finger prints that are left on ever surface of the home?

(17) Raised Garden Bed Kit - This was my gift last year for Mother’s Day! We ended up having our beds custom made because we ere getting our entire back yard re-done, but after doing some in-depth research these seem to be the easiest kits that are also pretty. Tending to our herbs and vegetables has been so fun to do with the kids, especially right now when we need activities to fill our days. For those of you in smaller outdoor living arrangements, I love these bag gardens from a local Dallas company!

Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 10th! Most of these items can ship immediately or are available for curb-side pick up. Don’t leave the mom(s) in your life empty handed this year. Order now!
