Hey Hey! One of my favorite sales of the year is here - the Sephora Spring Beauty Insider Sale. As a VIB member, I always use this chance to stock up on my tried and true favorites, try a few new things, and purchase some gifts (hello Mother’s Day!). The level of discount depends on your Sephora “status”. If you’re not a Beauty Insider, it’s free to sign up and you can accrue points throughout the year that give you access to free samples and sales. There are three different tiers of statuses and discounts (see image for details). Use the code SPRINGSAVE at checkout.

I don’t know about you, but in a time when I can do so little, I’m finding a lot of solace and peace in my beauty routine. That and deep conditioning my hair means I can hide in the shower for a few extra minutes.

Here’s what I have in my cart. Don’t wait too long; many of these popular items will sell out. And be sure to check out my Instastories over the next few days where I’ll highlight some of these favorites.

(1) Fresh Face Mask Set - My friends on Marco Polo laugh because I am constantly in a face mask. It just feels like a good use of time while we’re all stuck at home. I have loved and used this brand’s Rose face mask for hydration and am looking forward to trying the other two (cleansing and firming). *TIP: shopping for sets like this is a great way to try new products at a more affordable price*

(2) Herbivore Coconut Milk Bath Soak - I gave this to a few people for Christmas this past year and they all rave about how soft it leaves their skin. I’ve been upping my bath’s lately since, well, what else is there to do, and feel like I NEED this in my life. A wonderful ad easy Mother’s Day gift too!

(3) Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops - Another one that I’ve used for the past year and desperately need to stock up on. These are unlike any other self tanning product I’ve used before. You can add as many or as few drops to any body lotion to make it give you a gradual tan. My sister has used the medium and I use the dark, and quite honestly I’d get the dark for more effect. You can always use fewer drops of it to make it less dark. I have itchy, sensitive skin and I love that I can use my good body lotion and still get a bit of a glow. I use on both my face and body (although less frequently on my face). Very little smell and they don’t irritate or break out my skin.

(4) Laneige Lip Mask - I don’t know if it’s the increase in my wine consumption or the fact that my kids hijack my water cup constantly, but I am so dehydrated. And my lips feel it; so cracked and flaky. Just about every beauty blogger I follow swears by this overnight lip mask that hydrates, softens and plumps. Sign me up!

(5) Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask - I picked this up recently during the Nordstrom sale and have been loving it. Its a jelly-like consistency and a little bit goes a long way. I leave on for 10 to 20 minutes and after rinsing my skin is super soft, almost slick. Would be a great mask to do before a big night out to make your make up go on smoothly (dear Sweet Jesus let big nights out happen again sometime soon). All natural ingredients at work here: willow bark acts as a beta hydroxy acid that deeply cleans and clears pores, pomegranate enzymes smooth skin, and pink clay helps absorb oil. A great all-around, multi-function mask.

(6) Living Proof Detox Shampoo - I’ve waxed poetic about this before. If you haven’t washed your hair in awhile (ahem me) use this to cleanse the oil and product buildup off of hair. A healthy and clean scalp leads to healthy hair. I use this once a week so a big bottle lasts for quite some time.

(7) Living Proof No Frizz Nourishing Styling Cream - If you follow me at all on Instastories, you know my postpartum hair regrowth journey is a struggle. Besides the bat wings projecting out from the side of my head, my hair seems to be taking on a new frizzy texture. JOY. Tossed this travel size styling cream in my cart to see if it can help smooth down the situation. *TIP: buying travel/mini size products is a great way to try new items without the commitment (and price) of full size*

(8) Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara - Y’all, mascara is my holy grail, take to a deserted island beauty product. And I have tried A LOT. This has been my current favorite for some time, so much so that I “save” it for when I have a special occasion (which now consists of Zoom calls). I like a voluminous fat lash with length, separation, and softness. It’s hard to be all of those things, but this is. (Looky looky! I found last minute a set with a full size of this mascara and a mini of the primer I discuss below for the same price as one mascara. HERE.)

(9) Lancome Mascara Base - If you want your lashes to look amaze, you need a primer. The extra step goes a long way for adding length and helping mascara not clump. I generally splurge on nice mascara (see number 8) and get a drug-store primer, but added this to my cart to treat my self. I’ve use this primer in the past and combined with the Monsieur Big Mascara it legitimately makes it look like I’m wearing false lashes.

(10, 11, 12, 13) Olaplex Everything - 100% certain this brand of products is what’s keeping my hair from being entirely crappy right now. The shampoo and conditioner I use once or twice a week (which is nice because they aren’t cheap) and they make my hair so soft, especially for not having it cut since January. The No. 3 Hair Perfector was my gateway drug to this brand. It is a leave-in treatment you use before shampooing. I use this a few times a month and typically put it on while I’m in the bath and then wash it out. You know all those little rough ends of hair that stick out - this keeps those smooth and bonded back to the hair cuticle. It’s magic! The hair oil helps smooth everything before and after blow dries (or, lets be honest, air dry these days), but doesn’t leave that heavy feeling on my hair like most oils. I’ll never not use these products.

(14) Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer - My dark circles are, unfortunately, genetic. There’s not enough sleep or eye cream in the world that will make them disappear completely. So for years, I’ve applied layers and layers of concealer to my under-eye only to have it crease in my fine lines. Not cute. This is a relatively new purchase for me (bought it on Valentine’s Day at the mall after lunch with friends - man there’s a sentence I’d love to relive right now) and each time I use it I’m still amazed by it’s staying power and ability to make me look alive. I wear color “cedar” and use it just for my under-eye area (I use my beautycounter skinpen on the rest of my face).

(15) It Cosmetics CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ - I’ve tried a lot of foundations over the years. From drugstore to high-end. But I always end up gravitating to this standby. It’s full coverage, but not cakey. I love love love that it has SPF 50 in it. I often will mix it with my moisturizer to dilute it when I just want more of a blurring effect and less of a full-face. I apply with with my fingers and then blend it with a foundation brush. Its covers well, isn’t too drying but isn’t too oily. It’s just really really good. (Head over to IG stories - I’ll show ya!) I wear shade medium usually, but am getting the next shade up in the sale because of all this self tanning I’m doing haha (see number 3).

I know it seems kind of silly to write 1300+ words about beauty products when all this terribleness is going on in the world, but it gives me great joy and fulfillment to talk about something other than my children or this awful virus. I hope you’re distracted and can maybe find a new nice product to add to your stay-at-home routine. You deserve it. For real.
