If you’re new here, I use poetry as a way to express the deep feelings I often feel as it pertains to raising children, my faith, and the beauty of both the big parts and mundane parts of life. This week I wrote in haiku about our first weekend after the tragic Texas Hill Country flooding.

Our minister reminded us yesterday that in the depths of grief, our only true foothold is faith in the risen Lord. Faith that Jesus held those precious girls close, wrapped them in His love, and tenderly carried them home. It is because of that faith that we can trust that even in the brokenness of this world, He will bring peace. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes.
There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” (Rev. 21:4)

I shared on instagram today that we are starting the process of building a home. This is something I’ve always wanted to do, we were just waiting for the right time and the right lot. Recently all of the pieces quickly fell into place and we are off and running!
