Mystic
“What would I do if they were gone?” I think over and over the past few days, overwhelmed by the thought of how life could ever go on without them. Tragically, for far too many families in our community, that is now what they must bear. We are unraveled beside them. We weep with them. And we will not stop praying for the strength they need to carry on.
Our minister reminded us yesterday that in the depths of grief, our only true foothold is faith in the risen Lord. Faith that Jesus held those precious girls close, wrapped them in His love, and tenderly carried them home. It is because of that faith that we can trust that even in the brokenness of this world, He will bring peace. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes.
There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” (Rev. 21:4)
Lord, be near to the brokenhearted. Help us seek wisdom, strength, and hope as
we face this painful, unimaginable new reality. Our eyes are fixed on You, Lord.
